Everyone belongs in the arts because the arts are a mirror to the human experience - to love, heartbreak, joy, anguish, and every experience, emotion, and feeling in between. The arts tell the story of our lives.

This weekend, the incredibly dedicated cast and crew of MCCA’s Pre-Professional JTF Company brings Beetlejuice Jr. to the stage at Mountain Ridge High School. I couldn’t be more proud of what they’ve accomplished, and I cannot wait for you to experience the magic we’ve created.

It’s June, which means it’s nearly time for the Cumberland Pride Festival! MCCA is so excited to be returning to the Pride Festival to celebrate and promote love, diversity, and acceptance in Allegany County, Maryland.

We’re so excited for Pop Star Power Camp starting June 23. This high-energy week is perfect for kids who love to sing, dance, and perform.

It’s hard to believe that we are ending our Eleven Era year! This year has brought lots of excitement and we are so grateful to everyone who made it possible.  We have made so many special memories this session. Here are my top 10 favorite MCCA moments of Spring 2025.

It has been an amazing 11th year of MCCA and we are so excited to keep the good times rolling with our SUMMER SESSION! While we have offered Summer Camps and programming in the past, this is the first time we are offering a Summer session of all your favorite MCCA Classes! Students can spend the summer staying connected to their MCCA friends and teachers by attending a weekly class and keeping up with all of the skills they’ve learned throughout the school year.

Emma Hughes is a powerhouse dynamo at MCCA! With fierce leadership and awe-inspiring dedication, she tackles every project like a superhero on a mission. Emma doesn't just aim for the stars; she rockets past them, ensuring everything she touches sparkles with excellence. Her knack for motivating and uplifting everyone around her makes her a shining star, not just a leader but a beacon of inspiration at MCCA. Emma embodies the true spirit of MCCA with her unstoppable commitmen

Ms. Shelby chose Spencer for this week’s student shout out, because she is fierce, independent, creative, and full of excitement! Spencer is sassy when she wants to be, but is a super kind and caring friend too. She’s not afraid to take up space and brings 100% to class every week. Getting to hang out with Spencer in Broadway Minis is a hoot! She definitely makes MCCA a happier and more exciting place!

We are so excited to be opening the fabulous Elephant and Piggie’s “We Are in a Play!” tonight! Based on the family-favorite books by Mo Willems, this joyful show brings Elephant Gerald, Piggie, and their friends the Squirrelles to life!

Ms. Liz chose Beatrice for the Student Shout Out because of her incredible musical talent and her quietly kind, humble and generous heart. Bea’s musical ability shines through in her private voice lessons, where she works hard and continues to grow as a singer with a beautiful voice. She’s an honest example of soft-spoken strength and she never ceases to amaze Ms. Liz!

On April 14th, MCCA held its 4th JumpStart Theatre Celebration at the Garrett College Performing Arts Center, in McHenry Maryland. Six JumpStart schools were in attendance. Three Year one schools- Accident Elementary, Southern Junior High Theatre, and Westmar Middle School, and three graduated schools- Aurora School, Salisbury Elk Lick, and Northern Middle School. 

Ms. Jacki chose the entire Adult Musical Theatre class for a Shout Out this week because they are amazing and fearless.

Ms. Jessica chose Charli for her bravery and passion for dance! Every week, Charli steps into Ballet/Tap 1 without her parents, showing incredible courage as she takes on something new and meets new friends.

It's a day dedicated to all things art, from visual creations and handcrafted treasures to dynamic performances lighting up the downtown streets. And this year, MCCA is proud to be part of the magic once again!
