Creating memories. Connecting our community. Celebrating the season together.
There’s something special about the holidays in our little corner of Western Maryland. The lights come on, the air gets colder, and suddenly you start seeing familiar faces bundled up along Main Street with hot cocoa in hand. It’s the kind of small-town magic you can feel. And at MCCA, we love being right in the center of it.
Every year, our Holiday Magic performers help kick off the season with joy, sparkle, and that MCCA energy everyone knows and loves. This group is open to any currently enrolled MCCA student, staff member, or alumnus, and it gives performers a unique chance to shine throughout the community. It is fun. It is festive. And it creates memories that truly last.
A Pre-Professional Experience Wrapped in Holiday Spirit
Holiday Magic is part of our MCCA Magic Community Performance Group for grades K through 12. For the Fall 2025 Session 2, our focus is all about celebrating the magic of the holiday season. Performers rehearse through November and into early December, building not just choreography and vocals but confidence, teamwork, and stage presence. The atmosphere is positive, supportive, and full of excitement. It feels like a team. It feels like a family.
These rehearsals are also a pre-professional opportunity for performers who crave more stage time and real community performance experience. They learn how to prepare for events, adapt to different performance spaces, and work together as a polished group. It is the kind of training that sticks with them long after the holiday lights come down.
Where You Can Find Us This Season
Our Holiday Magic group is heading out into the community all season long. Here is where you can catch a performance and cheer on our performers.
Canal Place Tree Lighting: November 29 at 6 pm
Frostburg Tree Lighting: November 30 at 6:15 pm
Holding Hands for Haley Holiday Fundraiser: December 3 from 5 to 8 pm at The Rosenbaum in Cumberland. Our performance time is 6:30 to 7 pm
Storybook Holiday Pre Parade Performance: December 6 at 10:15 am
Storybook Holiday is near and dear to our hearts. MCCA has performed at this event since its very first celebration in 2013. Every year, we show up with huge smiles and performers ready to spread some cheer. It is one of our favorite traditions and a true highlight of the season.
Community First. Always.
Participating in community events is part of who we are at MCCA. Showing up for our town, sharing our gifts, and connecting with people are at the heart of our mission. Holiday Magic brings together students, teachers, alumni, families, and the entire community through the joy of movement, music, and storytelling.
If you see us out and about, wave, cheer, sing along, or simply enjoy the moment. Holiday memories aren’t just created on stage. They’re made in the shared experience. The smiles. The applause. The warmth. The magic.
Here’s to another beautiful holiday season with our MCCA family.
