Our JumpStart Theatre school season is in full swing! Our schools have been rehearsing, attending boot camps, and gearing up for the final productions in the next few months. To say that we are excited to celebrate school theatre is an understatement! 

Kylie Schall is our Student Spotlight this month, recognized for her outstanding leadership, strong work ethic, and unwavering dedication to her training.

Ms. Shelby chose Logan for this week’s student shout out, because of his bravery to always show up as himself. Even when he’s nervous or tired, Logan shows up, does his best, and is a kind friend to his classmates.

I chose Rosie because she works super hard and never gives up when things get difficult! She is such a bright light and I love having her in class! She makes me laugh and she’s always smiling, even if she had a rough day!

My main focus has been to make sure the choreography is engaging and will fit the JTF stage well. Preparing for JTF can be difficult as the “stage” is so different from a regular performance space.

What 2026 may look like for MCCA. At MCCA, we are always reflecting, growing, and evolving as an organization, and we are looking forward to the new year.

The holiday season at MCCA always moves fast. Between rehearsals, community performances, costume changes, and just-one-more-run-throughs, the weeks flew by in the best way possible.

This year has brought lots of excitement, and we are so grateful to everyone who made it possible.  We have made so many special memories this session. Here are my top 10 favorite MCCA moments of Fall 2025.

Ms. Skylar chose to spotlight Faith because she is pure fun! She's an enthusiastic student who jumps into new experiences without hesitation. Faith's positivity is contagious, and her dedication to reaching her goals makes her a role model among her peers.

Reflecting on all that we are thankful for here at Mountain City Center for the Arts has to be one of my favorite things ever. Every parent, guardian, friend, and family member of an MCCA student always reflects on every moment with such love and joy, and that has to be the sweetest testament to our work.

Miss Liz chose Callie for this week’s student shout out, because she is always super kind to her peers and is awesome in class!!

Summer is such a wonderful example of kindness and compassion. Her dedication to her classes is impressive, yet she always finds the time to go above and beyond to ensure everyone around her feels seen and included, regardless of their age.

MCCA Gratitude Week is happening right alongside the National Dance Education Association’s LOVE YOUR BODY Week! Love Your Body Week is a nationwide celebration that encourages everyone to embrace body positivity and appreciate all the amazing things our bodies can do.
