Showcase Week: The Most Magical Week of the Year✨

Happy Dream Upon a Star Showcase week!! 🤩Showcase Week always arrives like a crazy confetti cannon, hitting us with excitement, sparkles, coffee, costume bags, and a whole lot of magic. And this year, the energy has been buzzing through the studio all semester!! Here’s a little peek behind the curtain at everything our dancers, teachers, and families have been pouring into this wonderful week.

Monday: Private Lesson Craziness 🎹

We kicked things off with our Private Lesson Showcase rehearsal. Students got their guitars tuned, voices primed, and pianos ready! Solo performances are the single most courageous thing a kid can do and we are so so proud of how brilliant they all are. Quiet bravery everywhere.🩷

Tuesday: Luminary Sharecase – a Forever Sisterhood 🫶🏽

Tuesday brought the sweetest tradition that Miss Jamie had started: our Luminary Sharecase Performance and Party! Upper-level Luminary dancers paired with our younger performers in the Demi Grande program, creating these tiny, powerful mentorship moments. Think big-sister energy sprinkled across the room. 🥹Hands held and encouragements whispered with kindness. You could practically see confidence blooming in real time. (As a former “big sister” in this program, it’s my favorite thing to watch😭)

Wednesday: Tech Night Fabulousness 🎤

On Wednesday, we headed to Mountain Ridge for our 5pm Saturday Showcase rehearsal, and the stage came alive. Older classes and performance groups stepped into the lights like they owned the space because, let’s face it they do.😉 Costumes shimmered. Cues snapped into place. And those first moments under real stage lighting… they always feel like the most magical part of Showcase Week.

Thursday: The Frostburg Plot Twist 🫣❄️

Then came Thursday’s weather cancellation. Frostburg living up to its name… again.🤣 But artists bend, we don’t break. We regrouped, we adjusted, and we’re rolling right into the weekend with rehearsals on Saturday to keep everyone performance-ready.
