What makes MCCA different?

It’s so hard to believe that MCCA will be entering its TWELFTH YEAR! When I was first dreaming up what MCCA could become back in 2013, I knew I wanted to create a space that allowed people to be their true selves, find their community, create friendships, all while getting exceptional arts training. After years of traveling and working in major cities, I wanted kids in rural communities, our community, to have the same access to quality arts education and build connections and friendships that would shape their future.

Well, here we are 12 years later, and I am proud to say that MCCA has completely exceeded my expectations. People often ask, “What makes MCCA different or special?” I think there are a variety of reasons.

1. Our incredible team of teachers: some of the most compassionate, patient, kind, and TALENTED human beings out there. 

   

2. Our positive and kind environment that all teachers, students, and MCCA families work together to preserve and uphold so that all people feel welcomed and free to create and explore. 

   

3. Our beautiful facility. Walking into the studio on a busy night is electric! Hearing students sing, dance, and play music all while laughing with friends is just magical. As a parent, I also love all of our safety features including our secured building with security key fobs and student safety profiles for pick up and drop off. It’s also just a beautiful building to create in.

   

4. Our community. The term “MCCA FAMILY” is true. All of our students and their families show up for one another and not just at MCCA events. I love seeing all of the relationships that have been built because of MCCA. We are now getting to the point where we are seeing our alumni graduate college, start careers, get married, and have kids of their own, and it’s magical to see how everyone continues to support each other.

   

5. Our dedication to growth and learning.  We care about each other, our students, our families, and our community. We are eager to continue learning and evolving to be the best we can be each and every day so that we can continue to inspire those around us. 

   

Above all of this, every person at MCCA cares with their whole heart. You can feel that compassion every time you walk in. It feels like an exhale when you enter the building and see friends, teachers, and families connecting and laughing. You get a chance to let go of the stress of the day and enter a world of play, joy, and kindness where you can just be you.
