MCCA Teach Profile Ms. Jessica

How long have you been a teacher at MCCA? What do you teach?

I'm an OG MCCA Staff member since 2013! I teach Mini and Mini, Ballet/Tap 1, Protege Tap, Adult Tap 2, Adult Hip Hop, and Private Tap. I'm also the Marketing Director for MCCA.

What are you most excited about for our 10 Year Anniversary

As the Marketing Director, I first hand get to re-live so many memories daily for social media! I'm excited to help present our past and present to our students, parents, and followers!

If you could have a superpower what would you choose?

To control time! An extra hour or two a day would be pretty helpful!

If you could have dinner with any two people from history, alive or dead, who would you choose?

Tim Burton, I'm absolutely fascinated with his artistic process and would love to just hear him talk about his thoughts! Lucile Ball, I was obsessed with her as a child. I just love everything about her.

Who is your role model and why?

My mama! She is my best friend. I model everything in my life from everything she shown me. I love her.

If you could go anywhere in the world right now, where would you go?

Sicily. Family, beaches, architecture, history, and amazing gluten free food!

Outside of MCCA - what else are you involved in?

I own several business with my husband; The Vapor Room, Yellow K Records, and Jessica Grapes Marketing. I'm also currently choreographing James and the Giant Peach at the Cumberland Theatre. Plus, my two littles keep me busy!

What is your biggest pet peeve?

Socks. I think they are completely disgusting. I only own like 3 pairs of socks lol

How do you define success?

Success to me is finding joy and growth in whatever you are trying to

accomplish. It can be as simple as being able to slow down, relax and just be in the moment (which can actually be pretty challenging). Success also means working hard and not giving up to me. Trying my best, looking at obstacles from different angles, and continually challenging my self to grow.

Describe yourself in three words

Driven, confident, loving
