Summer Camps and The Arts: Why They Are The Perfect Pair

Summer here at MCCA has been going off without a hitch! This is the first time we have done a summer session here at the center, and we can confidently say it will not be the last. Giving our students a chance to continue to grow in their skill sets was something we were so passionate about, and we are so happy it finally came to fruition and is going so well.

Keeping kids in their year-round activities is not only beneficial to the well-being of the students but also convenient for parents. It gives them a chance to provide their kids with a space to feel safe, to thrive, and gives the average working parent a break from the fast-paced, busy life. Everyone has a place in the arts, and that doesn’t and should not stop in the summer.

MCCA kicked off the summer session towards the end of June, and we have been having so much fun! “I love the summer session because I get to see my friends and keep dancing!” said Penny Poland, MCCA student. From ballet/tap classes to adult hip-hop and ballet, Broadway Minis and Kids, and private lessons, there is an option for everyone to continue their passions and even find a new one!

Along with the weekly classes, we also just wrapped up our very successful Popstar Power Camp! This fierce group of 6 pop stars came up with a show-stopping set of songs from Zombies, Descendants, and Trolls. They spent the week learning music, choreography, and how to channel their inner pop star and be the most confident version of themselves. The week concluded with an ever-successful concert for their parents! “Popstar camp was such a blast, and I love singing and dancing!” Sophia McHenry, Popstar camp participant.

MCCA Summer isn’t slowing down anytime soon, and it is getting us even more excited for the fall session! Don’t forget about our drop-in offer for summer classes, where you can come to a class whenever it works for your schedule. We can’t wait to see you in the studio!
