Student Shoutout: Austin

Austin first started lessons with Mr. Tom only able to play a guitar that came with a video game. Over the past 5 1/2 years, Austin’s growth & passion for the guitar and music in general has reached far beyond expectations. He has blown all of us back in our seats with his shredding performances at MCCA Showcases. He has performed Guitar & Bass for the MRHS Marching and Jazz Bands for all 4 years of High School. He has put together his own band with other students. This year, Austin is assisting Mr. Tom as an MCCA Student Ambassador in the Guitar program. Austin works hard at his craft, and is always enjoying the process of progress. Mr. Tom looks forward to continuing to work with Austin and to his progress in music, teaching and in life.

Why do you love taking classes at MCCA?

I have the opportunity to learn new things in a clean and safe environment, making me a better person and musician.

What classes do you take at MCCA?

I take Guitar Lessons with Tom Bond. I am also currently a Student Ambassador for Guitar students, under Tom’s direction.

What do you love to do outside of MCCA?

I like to be outside and to play music.

What is your favorite subject at school?

Anything music-related.

What is your favorite memory from MCCA?

My favorite memory was performing at my first MCCA Showcase in 2019.

Nashville.

Do you know what you want to be when you grow up?

I want to be wherever my mind takes me.
