Student Shoutout: Adult Musical Theatre

Ms. Jacki chose the entire Adult Musical Theatre class for a Shout Out this week because they are amazing and fearless. It was impossible to choose just one person; everyone in the class is a rockstar! Whether or not they have any previous performance experience, every member of Adult MT is so brave and always up for trying something new. They are fierce, fabulous, fun to work with, and so very kind and supportive. The Adult MT class is truly a highlight of Ms. Jacki’s week!

Why do you love taking classes at MCCA?

Everyone at MCCA is so nice and welcoming. Taking an adult class allows you to take some time for yourself and allows you an outlet. It helps you “find your flock” and do some self-care!

What classes do you take at MCCA?

Amy: Adult Beginner Tap and Adult MT

Whitney: Adult Ballet and Adult MT

Becky: Adult MT and previously took Yoga (which we hope to see back soon!)

What do you love to do outside of MCCA?

Coltan: I love working with Accident Elementary School’s Jumpstart Theatre program and Northern’s Color guard and I also enjoy volunteering around the area.

What is your favorite inspiring quote?

Amy: “Work Hard. Play Hard.”

Becky: “Teamwork makes the dream work.”

What is your favorite movie?

Tara: RENT. It’s my favorite musical, too!

Coltan: My Big Fat Greek Wedding

Becky: A Few Good Men

If you could go anywhere in the world right now, where would you go?

Amy: Somewhere warm and a hot, like a tropical island

Sam: Jazzfest in New Orleans

Whitney: Big Sur

Coltan: Switzerland

Do you have advice for younger students or other adults who might be nervous to start something new?

Amy: Life’s too short. Try something new!

Whitney: Only the first class is a little scary! It takes very little time to get comfortable and feel at home.

Becky: Better to try something new and not like it, than to never try and miss out on an amazing experience.
