Spirit & Service Week!

I am Quinn and I am so excited to by your Outreach Coordinator this year! We are excited to celebrate MCCA’s 11th Anniversary with our annual Spirit & Service Week: September 9th-13th! Read below to see all the magic happening this week so you don't miss anything!

Let’s get dressed up!

Whether you’re in the studio one day or everyday, we encourage you to dress for our themes of the day!

  • Monday: “My Favorite Holiday Monday”

Dress up in your favorite elf costume, Halloween wear, or like your favorite leprechaun for St. Patrick’s! We will celebrate them all with you!

  • Tuesday: “Dazzle Day”

Sparkles, glitter, and neon, oh my! Wear your favorite color or sparkle gear! Whatever makes you feel electric, we can’t wait to dazzle with you!

  • Wednesday: “When I Grow Up Wednesday”

While Peter Pan may insist on never growing up, we want to know what you want to be when you do! Whether it's a superhero, doctor, or Broadway star, you can be whatever you want to be on this day!

  • Thursday: “Throwback Thursday”

We’re entering our “Eleven Era”, what era are you entering? 50s poodle skirts, 70s disco wear, or 90s leg warmers are all welcome on this day!

  • Friday: “Eleven Era” Kids Night Out Event!

We are excited to host this Taylor Swift themed kids night out event to end our spirit and service week! This event will take place on Friday, September 13th from 5:30-8:00 pm and is open to everyone in grades K-12!

Swifties will have an unforgettable time rotating through our Taylor Swift-themed activity rooms, including sensory-friendly spaces. They'll enjoy pizza and a themed snack room with their friends, making memories that last a lifetime!

Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at the following link. If you are currently registered for a class and bring a non-MCCA registered friend, you can enjoy 50% off your ticket price! For full details, visit the link below. We can’t wait to “Shake It Off” with you!

Giving Back!

We believe in giving back at MCCA. We want to empower change, one day at a time!

This week MCCA will be collecting non-perishable food items for WMFB throughout all of Spirit & Service Week! Help feed our community by dropping items in the donation barrel at the Front Desk all week.

Our MCCA Magic Performance Group will also be doing a day of volunteering at the bank to further our knowledge of the wonderful mission at the WFB! If you would like to join us, let us know!

The Western Maryland Food Bank (WMFB) was established in July 1983 to help bring additional food into the tri-state area to assist several organizations to stretch their dollars. Since then, it has worked to enhance the food rescue and food distribution systems locally, addressing the invisible hunger in our community.

The WMFB distributes food to local organizations, such as church pantries, day care centers, on-site feeding programs, emergency assistance organizations, etc.

The WMFB has a dedicated group of volunteers who inspect food items and prepare them for distribution. Volunteers and staff assist the agencies in picking and placing their orders and then loading their vehicles. The Western Maryland Food Bank continues to serve our community, distributing products to our member agencies.

These agencies serve 10,000-13,000 individuals monthly.

Monetary donations are welcome here: https://www.wmdfoodbank.org/donate/financially
