SHARE THE LOVE WEEK!

Hello, MCCA Family!

I hope you are having a fabulous session so far. It has been so wonderful to have everyone back in the studio after the Winter break. Thank you for sharing your gifts and talents with us!

Next week, February 14th-18th, we are celebrating one of my FAVORITE traditions at MCCA! It is SHARE THE LOVE Week and we have so many special things in store for all of you.

What is Share The Love Week?

While we always hold love and kindness at the forefront of our mission at MCCA, Share the Love Week gives us an extra special opportunity to shout it out loud and spread the love around. Maya Angelou said,

“People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”

It’s important to all of us at MCCA that our students feel loved and that they become ambassadors for love and kindness both inside and outside of MCCA..


How do we celebrate Share the Love Week?


We encourage all students to join in the Share the Love celebration. Students are welcome to wear their favorite red and pink outfits or any outfit that they LOVE! Any clothes or costumes that make you feel happy and are an expression of your true beautiful self are encouraged.


The MCCA Staff will engage students in special games and activities and will provide Kindness Challenges to each class. Classes will be making Valentines and cards to be distributed at local nursing homes, which is always a special treat for the residents and a great way to spread the love around!

We will also be accepting cash and check donations at the front desk for the Jumpstart Theatre program.

What is Jumpstart Theatre?


Jumpstart Theatre is a program run through the Educational Theatre Foundation that creates sustainable theatre arts programs in underserved middle schools where there were none. Participating schools receive training, materials, and budget support to produce their first full-scale musical production. The support continues for three years until the program becomes self-sustaining. As a Jumpstart Theatre partner, MCCA currently supports and mentors teams of teachers at five local schools in Maryland, West Virginia and Pennsylvania in order to help them build a lasting musical theatre program. Jumpstart Theatre would not be possible without generous donations to the Educational Theatre Foundation, and every little bit helps bring the love of theatre and performing arts to middle school students across the country. There’s no better way to Share the Love than to help keep Jumpstart Theatre funded and successful!
