New Staff Interview: Carson!

We are so excited to welcome you to the staff at MCCA! What are your first impressions of MCCA now that you are behind the scenes?

  • MCCA is an extremely supportive community and family to work with. I love being able to go to work every day and see a group I know I can trust with anything, and being around a kind and supportive community.

What are you teaching this session?

  • I am not teaching anything. I am an administrative assistant and assistant to Coty! I work on student accounts and am a member of amazing committees and groups.

Tell us about your background that brought you to teach at MCCA!

  • I was a student at MCCA my Junior and Senior years of high school, then in college, I started focusing on arts management and business administration. I worked as a Stage Manager for Frostburg State University and eventually, MCCA. After working as a stage manager, Coty asked me to work with MCCA in administration!

Describe MCCA in three words!

  • Caring, Compassionate, Supportive.

Describe yourself in three words!

  • Enthusiastic, Organized, Systematic.

Outside of MCCA - what else are you involved in?

  • I am a full time student at FSU, studying arts administration and business management. I work with community theatre organizations as a stage manager, technical director, and designer. At FSU, I have previously worked as designer and stage manager.

If you could have a superpower what would you choose?

  • Teleportation. (I feel like I could use it to be in many places at once)

If you could have dinner with any two people from history, alive or dead, who would you choose?

  • I think I would choose Ruth Bader Ginsberg (she’s a total girl boss), and Oscar Hammerstein II, due to him being one of the founding fathers of modern musical theatre.

What is your biggest pet peeve?

  • When I’m sitting in a desk chair, and someone leans on the back of it, causing me to roll around or lean backward. I also tend to hate when people talk over me during a conversation.

If you could go anywhere in the world right now, where would you go?

  • Possibly Roatan Island, Honduras. They have some of the most gorgeous beaches and it’s extremely affordable for a tropical resort.
