Your role at MCCA: I work as a set designer for some of our productions and I’m an instructor for Kids Create.

What is your favorite part of being an MCCA Teacher? I love being surrounded by everyone’s creativity. I think it’s so inspiring to see how everyone interprets the arts differently and puts their own special touch on things.

Kate's Bio
Kate is a creator, builder, and thinker who is excited to officially join the MCCA team. She has been part of the MCCA Family for many years, through her wife, Shelby and is stoked to take on a new role.
Kate has been building furniture for years and runs a small furniture/ art business, Kate & Shelby Create with her wife. Her first role at MCCA was set design/ construction for Beetlejuice, Jr. She is looking forward to designing future sets and helping students build their creativity through set design, costume design, and other aspects of technical theatre.
Outside of MCCA, Kate works as a Certified Nurse Midwife at UPMC Western Maryland. She loves gardening, traveling, live music, and camping.
